End of year message from Mr Flynn

Hello Everyone,

As the summer holidays officially begin, the usual excitement of finishing school is not so apparent this year. At this time of year we usually are in need of a break from routines but are instead looking forward to getting back together again when it is safe to do so.

All of the staff and myself are very proud of the way you boys handled the past few months. It has been such a difficult time for everyone but we know you have tried your best and we got to see many samples of the fantastic work you boys did here on our school website. Well done!

I’d like to give a special mention to our 6th class boys for the contribution they have made to our school over the past 8 years and I wish them well as they begin their new, exciting journey in secondary school.

I wish to express my sincere thanks to our school staff for their professionalism and dedication to the school and pupils throughout the year, but in particular over the past 3 months. I could never imagined it possible. Thank you for supporting students, parents and myself on all levels through a very challenging time. I am deeply grateful.

I would like to offer huge appreciation to Mrs Elaine Power, Assistant Principal and I.T. Coordinator for her uncompromised commitment to the school over the past few months. Mrs. Power is presently on a career break from her teaching position in Scoil Lorcáin but when approached she was only too willing to offer her assistance and expertise. She worked tirelessly and graciously behind the scenes since March 12th ensuring all Teacher’s work plans were uploaded onto our website which is a credit to her hard work and dedication.

I also want to thank our Parents and Guardians for their emails, support and general interest in the school over the past months. We await guidance from the Department of Education in relation to the start date for the new school year and to how it will be managed. I want to reassure you that we will pass on any updates the school gets over the summer break in due time.

If you need to make contact with the school during the holidays please do so by emailing office@scoillorcain.com.

Finally enjoy the holidays. Stay safe and we look forward to welcoming you back to Scoil Lorcain at the end of August/beginning of September.

Kind Regards,

Harry Flynn

Principal
