Dear Parents/Guardians,

We hope you and all the boys are all keeping well and enjoying the sunshine. As we make our way into what would have been our last few weeks in school, we hope the boys will enjoy doing some of the activities listed below. However, do not feel under pressure to complete this work. As Mr. Flynn stated to us in our online staff meeting; “Our kitchens are not classrooms, and our homes are not schools. And you, parents, are not expected to be teachers. We will ensure your child catches up on everything when we finally return to school. As you have collected your son’s books last week, you can choose to do some activities listed below or finish off any of your son’s workbooks or copy books.

Below are some suggestions of what you could do with the boys from June 2nd – June 12th. The theme for this fortnight is ‘Summer Time’.

This work includes Youtube Stories, Powerpoints and worksheets on Twinkl and other activities.

****To access the twinkl resources you may need to create a free parents account, to do this please see the link below

How do I sign up for the free month?

Step 1: Go to www.twinkl.ie/offer

Step 2: Enter the code  CVDTWINKLHELPS

Literacy in Junior and Senior Infants is most important so if you are going to pick one thing to do with your child, literacy is a great place to start.

Again, please do not feel under any pressure to get this work done, these are only suggestions! Reading a book, playing a game and having a conversation with your child is just as good so make the most of this time with your child and stay safe.

If you have any questions at all big or small please contact us at the email addresses given, we are more than happy to help and if you would like to send pictures of work / activities that the boys are doing at home we’d love to see them and reply to the boys.

P.S. Say hello to all the boys from us.

– Infant Teachers

* Please note – Boys that go to learning support or language support – The learning and language support teachers have put work separately on the website for the boys they take. Please check the website for work specifically aimed at these boys.

** There is a jollyphonics app parents can download at a cost of €5.49. Again this is optional, do not feel obliged to purchase it.
