Boys from Scoil Lorcáin stood together in the shape of a heart on Weds 18th September to create awareness of our ongoing cardiac situation.
The south east presently is the only region in the country without a 24/7 cardiac care service – a 39 hours weekly access service is based at our regional hospital, University Hospital Waterford. Government 12 months ago agreed to the development of a 2nd Cath lab at UHW and to provide medical personnel. This has not happened. For patients in Waterford ,this means a long time travelling by ambulance and time delays to treatment.
We at Scoil Lorcáin would like to highlight this very important issue for the people of Waterford.
