I hope you are well and keeping busy. When the weather is nice, its great to get some fresh air. If you have a garden, you can look for the signs of spring all around us now. You could even hide some eggs, make a map and have an egg hunt for other people in your family!
David Walliams, the children’s author is posting every day on facebook. Each day he reads a new story at 11 o clock. They are very funny.
Below is a really interesting website where you can look up information on lots of topics- octopuses, the Grand Canyon in America, and even sailing. You can explore places around the world and look up science projects too!
Please don’t worry if you cannot get through the activities that I’ve assigned below. Choose a book or topic that interests you to get you going and just do your best. A little bit every day makes all the difference and will make school a bit easier when we return.
I can’t wait to get back to school, it feels like a very long time since I’ve seen you all.
Please revise all the high frequency words you have worked on in class.
List 1 the to and he a I you it of in was said his that she for on they but had
List 2 at him with up all look is her there some out as be have go we am then little down
If you are getting on ok with these and your son can read them quickly, carry on with the words below

You can play games with the words by writing them on card for your child and seeing how quickly they can read them or make two of each and play snap.
Try to revise 5 per day but again please don’t be under pressure, it is just to revise what we have done. These words come up again and again in books so if you try to read a little every day it will all help.
If possible ask your child to write their own sentences every day, using the words above. As done in class, cut up the sentence into it’s seperate words to promote quick and fluent reading.
If you want to continue learning the high frequency words, here is a link to a site with all the high frequency words.
Here are the books for the boys for the next two weeks.
You can read one over two days, once with the narrator reading and the next with your child reading. There are buttons on the bottom of the page to play games and answer questions. Talk about the book, the characters and what your child liked or didn’t like.
